Kibbutz Yotvata is 42 kilometers North of Eilat, Israel’s southernmost city. The Kibbutz was established in 1957 by a Nahal group in the Ein Radian site. Kibbutz Yotvata is known primarily known for its dairy products. Some of its most popular dairy products are sold in the cafeteria across the street from the Kibbutz.

The cafeteria area developed over the years to include a store, gas station and information center for local attractions.  There are cow statues next to and inside the cafeteria.

About the partnership

In November 1998, an alliance was formed between Kibbutz Yotvata and Yotvata Dairies (in the name of Uri Chorzo) and Strauss Health, giving the Kibbutz and Strauss Health each a 50% stake in Yotvata Dairies.

The Kibbutz committed itself to providing all the raw milk produced by the Yotvata Dairies. The Yotvata Dairies’ areas of expertise included milk beverages and premium milk. In a series of agreements drawn up over the years it was determined that Yotvata products would be distributed through the Strauss sales department and that the company would provide Yotvata Dairies with various services.
