In 2007, we created the Strauss code of ethics. The code of ethics outlines our principles for ethical and proper behavior. These principles stem from our vision and values, direct our activity and provide the foundation for the ethical management of the company.
At Strauss we view professional ethics as a vital condition for our existence as a business organization acting out of social responsibility. Presenting the code of ethics allows us to define clear procedures, which is an indispensible part of Strauss becoming an international concern.
The code of ethics plays a significant role in our daily affairs. We see it as the means for allowing open discussions about ethical issues, generating a wave of positive actions. The code of ethics was translated to 8 languages and was integrated in every place in the world we operate in. It is presented in the absorption of new employees and ongoing guidelines of the organization. In order to encourage open discussion on the issue of ethics, we appointed ethical trustees in the company. These trustees are at every site and country we operate in. All the day to day ethical issues and dilemmas that arise through ongoing work are addressed to them. Above the trustees the company’s legal advisor was appointed as the concern’s ethical trustee to whom various issues are addressed from time to time. In the near future, Strauss plans to establish a hotline that anyone in the company can access anonymously or by identifying themselves, to present ethical issues that need to be improved or resolved.
