Our coffee company, Strauss Coffee, is the sixth largest in the world in terms of green coffee and one of the fastest growing coffee companies in the world for the past six years. In these years Strauss Coffee has tripled the scope of its activity from 1 Billion NIS up to 3.2 Billion NIS by the end of 2008.
Our coffee has a leading position in Israeli markets (through partnerships with the Lima brothers of Santa Clara), Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Russian, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Headquarters are located in Holland, with the purchasing center for green coffee - the most fundamental raw material for preparing coffee - being located in Switzerland, and our 12 production sites around the world employing some 5,500 people.
The company’s activity is focused on the roast and ground coffee sectors, and branches out to side products such as instant coffee, chocolate powder and cocoa beverages, cappuccino, espresso and more. Alongside activity in the retail sector, we supply services and solutions for coffee consumption outside the home. Through restaurants, hotels, coffee shops, work places and coffee stores suited to the local culture and market, we enable a growing number of customers around the world to enjoy the coffee experience. The coffee outside the home activity is led by Doncafé.
In 2008, TPG Capital, the second largest private capital fund in the world, acquired a 25% stake in Strauss Coffee. Having this new partner aboard is expected to accelerate the company’s growth and expansion in the coming years.
