History
Strauss began its operations in Romania in 1995. The initial activity included establishing a modern coffee factory, setting up the corporate headquarters in Bucharest and building a national marketing and distribution operation. Since 2004, the Bucharest headquarters handles all our operations throughout the Balkans in Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria.

Business Overview
Our coffee activity in Romania focuses on the retail market and Away From Home coffee market that is characterized by high growth. The accelerated growth has turned Strauss Romania into the second coffee company in the country with a 30% market share.

As part of the expansion and growth being experienced in this area, we recently launched Doncafé in the Romanian market, which required a 15 Million EURO investment. Since launching, we are aspiring to reach a situation where two out of every three cups of coffee drank in Romania are ours.
