There’s no place like home

Israel is our home base – the cultural source we receive our ideological and professional knowledge from.

Apart from the business activity, Israel is also the residence of the group's Headquarters and Management team.

By the end of 2010, our activity in Israel represented some 53% of the Group’s business turnover. In Israel we produce, market and promote products in three categories which serve as the core of Strauss’ global activity – Health & Quality of Life, Fun & Indulgence, and Coffee.

Over 20 production and distribution sites scattered throughout Israel employing some 4,500 employees create wonder that is distributed on a daily basis to some 11,000 retail sale points in Israel. We also operate the Elite Coffee chain that comprises 70 sales points. Our activity in Israel is complemented by a series of partnerships with global food manufacturers: Danone International has a 20% stake in Strauss Dairies, PepsiCo is a 50% partner in the salty snacks activity and Unilever holds 51% of Strauss Ice Creams, which is not managed by Strauss Group, but is owned by the Strauss family (49%). These are fruitful, long-term partnerships that allow us to create a solid professional business foundation.

As a company with roots planted firmly in the history of the State of Israel, our brands and products are truly connected to our consumers. They have accompanied Israelis in their daily life for decades and are a household name for consumers of all ages.

In 2010 Strauss Israel’s sales, excluding the Coffee business, totaled NIS 2.6 billion.
