History
Strauss entered the Polish market in 1991, and has been constantly investing in its growth ever since, as part of its quest to create innovation in the local market. The coffee factory in Swzdzim is the largest in the country, sprawled out on 53,000 square meters with 12,000 of that being buildings. The factory, employing 444 made up of 65% men and 35% women, is capable of producing up to 30,000 tons of coffee, which is almost a third of Poland’s annual coffee consumption. In 1999, the storage and logistics center was established. As a result of the SAP management system, it became one of the most advanced in its field in Europe. The Group’s activity in Poland is characterized by the full automation of coffee preparation and packaging processes.

Business Overview
The success of Strauss Poland is first and foremost a result achieved through its 420 employees, which started out as a team of 25 in 1991. Since 2003, the company has significantly enlarged its scope of sales from 40.4 million EURO to 79.7 million EURO in 2010.

Strauss Poland activity is focused on the R&G coffee category, where we are ranked as the second largest coffee player in the country. At the same time, Strauss continues to expand the scope of its activity in coffee consumption outside the home.  In addition to our business activity we are working on social responsibility projects in Poland, especially with regard to promoting athletics and raising awareness for a healthier way of life among youngsters, through the Pedro’s Cup competitions. In the coming years we will work toward maintaining high standards of quality, by continuing to ensure the standards of various products and making them more friendly to the environment and consumer.

Our goal over the next five years is to become the market leader in retail sales of R&G coffee, and the No. 1 distributor of Away From Home coffee services in Poland.
