PepsiCo-Strauss's Fresh Dips & Spreads activity in the USA

In August 2005 Strauss acquired 51% of Sabra, a Mediterranean salads brand marketed in the US. With the help of the extensive know-how in dips & spreads and fresh foods accumulated by Strauss, supported by a vision and belief in the category, the Sabra brand grew and made its way into more and more households across USA.

In light of Sabra's success, in 2007 PepsiCo entered into a 50/50 partnership with Strauss Group in the American company, and together, we built a new consumption world of fresh, ethnic dips, food that is authentic and healthy. Sabra has become the fastest growing brand in the refrigerated dips and spreads category and is today considered the leading hummus brand in America, with a market share of 57%.

Max Brenner's activity in the USA

Max Brenner operates six locations in the USA. Four of these – New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and Las Vegas – are Chocolate Bar Restaurants, serving complete meals for breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner as well as the brand’s signature chocolate menu items. The New York City location, unveiled in 2006, is located in the iconic Union Square neighborhood and draws upwards of half a million visitors per year.

The fifth location – in Bethesda, MD – is a traditional Chocolate Bar offering delectable servings of chocolate that are shareable, pourable, dunkable and injectable. Signature menu items range from thick hot chocolate and Cocktails to creamy fondues, Pearl Sugar waffles, chocolate pizzas and chocolate-filled syringes.
