Every country in the world has its favorite snack food, the one everyone grew up with. In our case, it's quite clear that as far as we Israelis are concerned, it's the peanut butter snack that melts in your mouth. No matter if you're a little kid, an adolescent, a soldier or an elderly grandma, there's no way you will be able to resist it.

Elite joined the peanut festivities in 1994 with a new, tasty product called "Shoosh", a baked corn snack with peanut butter coating and a fun, melt-in-your-mouth texture that leaves you hankering for more.

The character of Shoosh, the cute beetle, originates in the successful TV program "Animals and Smiles", which was broadcast on Israel Television's Channel 1 at the time.

How is Shoosh made?

Well, first of all huge quantities of corn are ground and then subjected to a process of compression, heating and cutting into small snacks. In the second stage, the snacks are transferred into a large coating drum where they are coated with peanut butter. Finally, the snacks are packed in bags and delivered to the stores.

In the course of the years several special editions of the popular snack were launched, such as Vanilla Shoosh, Sweet Shoosh, Cheese Shoosh and Especially Long Shoosh, as part of a unique collaboration venture with the "Larger than Life" nonprofit organization, whose goal is to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of children with cancer and their families.

In 2011 Chocolate Shoosh joined the family – a corn snack with an Elite chocolate flavored cream filling and peanut butter coating, a unique combination of sweet and savory and the product of collaboration between Elite's Confectionery and Salty Snack Divisions.
