Haier Strauss Water’s business focuses on the home water filtration market in China and offers filtration- and purification-technology-based drinking water solutions as well as products based on Strauss Water’s proprietary Maze technology. The products are marketed in China under the brands Haier Strauss Water, Haier and Casarte, and are sold through a variety of channels, including online, at retail chains and via direct marketing.

In 2021, a state-of-the-art production facility was built in China, and a second manufacturing site is expected to become operational by 2025, located near the first plant. The investment in the second plant is being made as part of the company’s strategy and will support HSW in solidifying its market leadership.

Shai Babad, Strauss Group President & CEO, commented: “Our meaningful partnership with Haier Group is one of the strategic partnerships we maintain around the world. The construction of the second plant for the production and assembly of advanced water filtration systems in collaboration with Haier in China is yet another testimony to the strength of the 12-year partnership between the two companies. The second facility will boost the water company’s production capabilities and its ongoing growth with the goal of realizing the Group’s business strategy, which is designed to expand activities in international markets.”

Esti Carmeli, Strauss Water CEO, said: “The new plant will support us in delivering advanced water solutions to our consumers in China and in strengthening our competitive position in the Chinese market. We are also exploring possibilities for additional collaborations in manufacturing, in water laboratories, and in new water technologies.”

Growth in the Group’s global business; Strauss Water in China has delivered 6.4% average annual growth

The joint venture between Strauss Group and Haier in China is mainly active in the filtration and purification of drinking water at the point of entry to the home (POE systems), and, of course, systems that purify and filter drinking water at the point of use (POU systems). The existing facility manufactures advanced technology-based water appliances. In the past four years, the water company in China has grown by an average of 6.4% per year. HSW ended the first quarter of 2023 with revenues of NIS 191 million and 10% growth.

Strauss Group has defined the goal of accelerating growth and expanding the Group’s three key international pillars in Brazil, the US and China. As part of these efforts in China, Strauss aims to grow the online business, leverage the new plant for greater innovation, and broaden its product offering in the local market.
