Sustaining Production in the Gaza Envelope

The field will regain its smile
After a 4-day closure, our Sderot salty snacks production plant resumed operations.
We employ around 500 individuals, including both staff and managers residing or working in the southern region and the Gaza Envelope. We collaborate with 19 potato growers in the Western Negev region, including Yotvata, Ruhama, and Dvir. They supply us with the raw material for our popular snack. Despite repeated missile barrages, we never considered relocating it to a different part of Israel.
The plant is located a few kilometers away from the potato fields.
The salty snacks production plant was established at Sha’ar HaNegev to collaborate with local farmers and bolster the southern region. This week, production resumed and is set to continue for many years.

“The story of the Strauss salty snacks production plant in Sderot intertwines with the story of the Gaza Envelope and local farmers. I am hopeful and confident that our farmers will regain safety, allowing them to nurture the land and restore joy to the fields,” said Ariela Schiffenbauer-Weiss, CEO of our salty snacks division.
